We are a bespoke butchers selling only the very best quality meat, poultry, game and many other products. Our produce includes some of the best lamb, beef and pork joints on the market. We offer two packages for our customers and nationwide delivery for their convenience. About Terry of Gaterell Butchers
“My father came from a large family of which he and all his brothers worked as managers for Dewhurst, some of whom went on to buy their own butcher’s shops including my father who started his own shop in Stubbington, Hampshire in 1968.
I too have worked all my life in butchery, I started like my father with Dewhurst in 1968 and got my first manager’s job at the age of 18 with Spar supermarket. From there I moved to a meat supervisor’s job for a large supermarket chain (Key Markets). I left them to take over the running of my father’s independent butcher’s shop in Fetcham (Leatherhead) Surrey when he became too ill to run it himself.”
Terry’s story continues
“I worked for him for a few years until I bought my first shop in 1984 in Gosport, Hampshire. I sold that in 1996 and ran an independent catering butchers, supplying top restaurants/pubs in the New Forest area of Hampshire.
I bought my present shop in Felpham, Bognor Regis in March 2000.
Since then I have invested a considerable amount of capital, and toil, kitting out my shop in Bognor Regis to enable us to offer a unique service and a wide range of quality products from our shop today.”

Our staff
In addition to Terry Gaterell, Gaterell Butchers is run by Michael Regan (manager) and Tim Porter.
Michael Regan – Mike has worked for and with Terry since 1989. Over the years they have become close friends, as have their wives and ever extending families. Michael is a very laid-back guy with a dry sense of humour and a cheeky smile. He has, like Terry, worked in butchery all his life and has had his own shop in the past.
Tim Porter – Joined the team in April 2015, Tim has many years’ experience at management level and has worked locally for the last 17 years.
The team is made complete by Jill who wraps and makes up all our award-winning pies and ready meals. She also keeps us all in check in the absence of our wives! And last but not least, Robin, our Saturday boy.
